Rob Geersen recognised in State Parliament

We could not be prouder to see Rob Geersen recognised in State Parliament by our local member, Frank Paolino MLA, during National Volunteer Week.

Rob is a Starkick All Abilities coach, a Life Member, a former President, and a 2025 WA Local Hero nominee for Australian of the Year. He is also the heart behind Starkick. The program came from Rob’s idea, his endless energy and his find-a-way approach, and it was given a crack right here at the Bombers. What started as a club initiative is now changing lives across Western Australia and beyond.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Paolino described Starkick as “a supportive and adaptable environment for children who find traditional sport inaccessible”, and Rob as “the exemplar of a community hero”.

Rob’s vision created a safe, fun and inclusive space where kids of all abilities can play footy and know they belong. He leads with humility and heart, and he is not one for the spotlight — so we are glad Frank shone it his way.

Thank you also to the North Perth Community Bank Branch for its great support of this program at the Bombers.

From all of us at Coolbinia — thank you, Rob.
